Memphis based Oshi Asian Kitchen re-opened its doors in style

Memphis based restaurant and sushi bar re-launched under new management on August 28, and the Nguyen family and team have tastefully revamped Oshi Asian Kitchen's menu. 

“We wanted to bring something to Memphis that it doesn’t have right now,” said general manager, Michael Gentry, "We have some of the best Pho in the city, and I think we actually might be the only Pho in Downtown Memphis right now."

The new menu is a combo of Pho, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese and French cuisine with nontraditional takes on relevant southern dishes combined with an Asian flare. The menu is also made primarily from the Nguyen's family recipes. The restuarant has a full lunch, dinner and dessert menu serving sushi rolls, Asian-inspired dishes, and you won't have to worry -- the Oshi burger returns! 

The creative influence behind the restuarant comes from four of the Nguyen brothers, who had a rich cultural upbringing due to being raised in Memphis, going to culinary school in France, and their Vietnamese heritage.

“Their mother actually makes a significant portion of our broths so if you ever have the Pho, that’s their mom’s recipe, which is straight from Vietnam,” said Michael. 

Family is extremely important to the Nguyen's and this is what makes Oshi so unique. They strive to make their customers feel like one of their own, and they pride themselves on the fact that their restaurant embodies southern hospitality.

“They wanted it to feel welcoming as if it is a family, that’s why the owner, Minh Nguyen, is standing behind the sushi bar and says hello to you when you walk in the doors," said Michael.
