River Series: Los Cantadores w/ Mark Edgar Stuart

Memphis' best mariachi band, Los Cantadores has been an institution for years with their brand of authentic Latin and Cuban folk music.

"With verve to spare, Bluff City act Los Cantadores offers an exotic duende of the soul... The six-piece ensemble, led by guitarist/vocalist Domingo Montes, places itself firmly in the tradition of fine Latino folk ensembles here or anywhere else."

A former session bassist who has become one of Memphis's best singer/songwriters, Stuart has a John Prine-like ability to deliver songs that feel poignant, witty and authentic.

This marks the fourth year of the River Series at the Harbor Town Amphitheater, a series of live music shows that benefit the Maria Montessori School. The on-campus amphitheater, an underutilized and truly beautiful event setting on the Mississippi River in Harbor Town, showcases and celebrates the school, the river, the Harbor Town community and the musical talent of Memphis and beyond. We ask for a $5 donation per person at the door. For more information visit riverseries.org.
