The streets of Downtown Memphis are alive with stories that tell about the history and culture of our city! You can take your own self-guided tour through a series called the Sidewalk Stories. The tours allow you to follow a series of bronze plaques imbedded the sidewalks throughout Downtown that celebrate Memphis' colorful history. The stories were produced by Memphis Heritage and the Downtown Memphis Commission. More Sidewalk Story Tours are coming soon!
Sidewalk Stories Tour 1: Cotton Row and the Business District
This tour starts at the foot of Union and winds through Downtown to Civic Center Plaza. The tour is set up as a GoogleMap. You can either download the map or use your smartphone to take the tour. Happy Trails!
