Helmed by Demitrie Phillips, the kitchen at Bardog Tavern produces a simple and fresh menu of American classics with international flavors mixed in, especially those of the Italian variety.
Our Spaghetti and Meatballs, based on my 88 year-old grandmother’s recipe (which she actually taught to the crew in person), has quickly become one of our standard dishes. And aside from our Original Memphis Sliders – tasty 3 oz. mini-burgers – and our Amazing Island Club, which are some of the best sandwiches in the Midsouth, we feature daily a fantastic Ahi Sushi Tuna on Won tons appetizer and the tastiest Tomato Bisque this side of the Mississippi (which we can almost throw a rock into).
In 2009, Bardog Tavern was voted No. 1 in the “Best New Bar” category in the Memphis Flyer Reader’s Poll and Jean Pruett, our star server, was voted No. 3 in the “Best Server” category.
