Take the Cycleneuring Challenge in Downtown Memphis
The Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club announced the release of a bicycle challenge aiming to bring casual cycling back to the Mid-South -- here's how to take the challenge in the Downtown Memphis.

The Cycleneuring Challenge will help encourage people to see how easy it is to take small trips via bicycle, connecting people on bicycles to small businesses. Anyone with a bicycle can participate in the challenge. Cycleneuring includes the following challenges; Burger, Bike Share, Coffee, Dessert, Sandwich, Mexican Food, BBQ, and Pizza with the occasional special challenges throughout the year.
Challenge will take place between March and October. Last day to participate will be October 31st.

Ride to and eat at any Mexican restaurant!
Ride to and eat at any BBQ restaurant!
Ride to any coffee shop. Drink coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or whatever you are in the mood for!
Ride to any burger restaurant and enjoy a burger. Veggie burgers and chicken sandwiches are good as well!
A few options: Bardog Tavern, Dyer's Burgers, Earnestine and Hazel's, Green Beetle, Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, Hard Rock Cafe, Huey's Downtown, Max's Sports Bar, Local Gastropub, Kooky Canuck, SOB - South of Beale, The Blue Monkey, Westy's.
Ride to any dessert shop and enjoy ice cream, baked goods, or whatever!
A few options: Beale Sweets Sugar Shack, Bluff City Coffee, Cheesecake Corner, Cupcake Cutie, Etc., Makeda's Cookies, Margie's 901 Ice Cream, Peabody Deli & Desserts, Rollin' Sweets, Scoops Parlor, The Peanut Shoppe, Two Girls and a Whip.
Ride to any pizza restaurant and enjoy a slice of pizza – or anything Italian!
Ride to any brewery or distillery!
Ride to any sandwich shop!
A few options: Bogie's Delicatessen, Court House Deli, Front Street Deli, Lenny's Sub Shop, Lisa's Lunchbox, Renee's Sandwich Shop, Miss Cordelia's Grocery and Deli, The Office @ Uptown Cafe, Wrapzody Gourmet Wrapz.

Cycleneuring Participation Rules
The Memphis Hightailers Cycleneuring Challenge Rules:
- Ride your bike to 10 different local locations during the above schedule for each challenge.
Any day of the week while adhering to the spirit of the cycleneuring rule.
THREE Rides Maximum Per Week.
- Only 1 challenge per day counts and a maximum of three rides per week qualify.
Minimum Distance. Your ride must be at least two miles total, but there is no maximum!
- So yes, you could ride 100 miles (or more!) for the challenge.
Location: To participate you must reside in the area on the Memphis Area Map.
Take a photo during your outing or provide some other form of evidence that you rode your bike for any of the challenges, and submit it as verification. Please note:
- Where you went (address and website, if possible);
- Date you went there;
- What you ate or drank;
- A detail or two about your Cycleneuring ride; and
- Total mileage. (If you find any “must visit” coffee shops or tea places please share that as well.)
Spirit of Cycleneuring Rule.
- You may not combine your Cycleneuring ride with any other ride such as an organized century, group ride, populaire, or brevet.
Earth Rule.There are no geographic limitations to the Cycleneuring Challenge, except that you must cycleneur on planet Earth.
TEN Different Places Rule. You have to go to 10 different places per challenge, although you may ride to multiple locations of a chain, if necessary.
During or after each ride complete the form with all details and upload the photo. Also, please share what you are doing via social media.
-The hashtag for the Cycleneuring Challenge is #Cycleneuring. Tweet and/or post on Instagram if you like, but don’t feel obligated. This is a no-pressure situation.
- You are eligible for a prize for finishing the challenge. Prizes will be available for pick up at a specially scheduled event to celebrate the challenge.
